Transfer box question

This might seem like a silly question but here goes  Do you need the engine running / Sj moving to change between 2wd / 4wd etc, or do you do this with the engine off / car stationary ? Only asking as i tried changing between the 2wd / 4wd yesterday ( while car was stationary with engine of...

Re: After a good suzuki mechanic.

Hi It's an 86 with a 970c engine, although the engine is from a Bedford Rascal / Suzuki Carry and not an Sj410 ( although i've been told they are basically the same ). The main problem is fuel related. There's a bit more info on this post. http://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/phpBB3/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: After a good suzuki mechanic.

You can tell by the tone of my post that i was having one of those days can't you

Better day today
Think i'll try a few bits myself , but still keep an eye out for a good mechanic along the way.

After a good suzuki mechanic.

Took Ian ( a nice typical name for a car  ) out for a spin today and the fuelling issues are still there. From looking at various pics, i'm pretty sure that he is running an electronic fuel pump already, although i could be wrong on this. I'm now getting a bit fed up, as for once, it would ...

Fitting a tow bar ... maybe ?

Thinking of fitting a tow bar to the back of my Sj / Mini. From what i can gather, they bolt to the underside by 4 ( i think ) bolts. However .... after having a look at the rear underneath, i'm not sure if i've got the correct mounting holes or if it will even fit due to me having the Clubman Estat...

Re: Fuel filters

I have 2 filters. Both have fuel sitting in them, and the one under the bonnet's filter appears to be a bit darker than normal, so going to change them both and see what happens.

Re: Hello. Haven't been here for ages.

I've got a new fuel pump on the shopping list, so the write-up will come in handy, cheers  It is an SU carb, and i've read a bit about icing up ( sypmtoms do sound similar to what i'm getting ). Is there a simple solution to solve this ? I'm completely new to Sj's , but hopefully i'll pick ...

Fuel filters

Further on from my Hello post, i'm after some fuel filters. Looking around on ebay ( i know i could probably get them from elsewhere ), there seems to be a few ranging from between £2.00 - £7.00 each . I just wondered if there is a specific make that's best or are they all pretty much the same thing...
