Santana Fusebox

Post by HuwJones » Sat Mar 29, 2014 5:11 pm

Hi guys.
I've had loads of electrical problems with my '89 Santana over the lest few weeks. Everything from headlights occasionally working and the ignition just stopping whilst driving. I found the problem was the fuse box. A passenger has at some point put their foot against it, and it has cracked the PCB bit of the board. But, instead of replacing it with a equally venerable Santana fuse box, I was wondering if anyone has ever replaced one with a aftermarket fuse holder? And has anyone got a diagram on what fuse does what? I've figured some out but not all of them.
Thanks
Huw

It would be easier to just replace it rather than re-wire the thing, my Sammy has the fusebox under the drivers side dash, but could you just move it more upwards and out of the way of people feet?

Pretty sure I have a fusebox kicking about in the garage somewhere.
If it ticks over...leave it

Thanks, That is very helpful! It's also very interesting, my fuse box/panel/board thing, has the same 'burn' marks on the white connector. When I bought it, the 15Amp (blue) fuse above it was melted (I mean literally melted, not fused). It's all a bit shit really! I thought it was because the previous owner had done something funny with the wiring, but it could be a 'Normal' Santana loom problem.

Donkeychomp, if you've got one, what would you want for it?

Thanks

Huw

These are the pictures I have in my archive, including the one with the wire colours shown. I gave up finishing it as I don't know the rest of the wire colours.
Any chance of a pic or 2 of yours , or have you chopped the connectors off.
Cheers - Darrell.
