Right folks, i got round to doing my handbrake today, I have put a 410 t-box and transmission brake on a samurai, i have got the correct cable and the correct leaver. my problem is, were do i secure the cables outer casing to? when i pull the leaver the whole lot moves so surly the casing needs securing down to create the tension!

Re: handbrake cable
HI Dan,
when I modified th sj into the blitz i ha dto change the fixing of the cable too. and i have a tb from a 410 as well.
so above the transfer box there is a cross member. if you put your brakecable along it starting at the hand brake the nuts are going to be near that cross member. you just have to get a L shaped plate, bolt it on the cross member and attach the cable to it.
I get some pics for you in the mean time i made a wee drawing if it canhelp
