copper less mig welding wire

Post by parrotveasey81 » Wed Nov 03, 2010 6:53 pm

my works welding rep poped in today with a free 15kg roll of copper free mig welding wire for us to try out.
it cost £2 more per 15kg roll
has less fumes
50% less spatter
plus a few other benifits i cant remember

well it has the same amount of spatter but is easyer to get off,has less fumes but is alot smoother to weld with and gives a better weld with the same settings(just need to back off the tension on the wire feed rollers)
so im hook'd on it just need to try and get the company to get it in all the time.

Those welds are artwork, it's saying something when that level of skill can be improved on just by a component in the wire.

I was awestruck at your Vit chassis build.

hopefully you can do something like that to my jeeps body soon.

hows sorting the vit going. i have spoken to the guys at work who are working in trowbridge who think they could chuck it on their low loader when they use it to pick up their diggers from site within a week or so.

I've welded a bit, but only on thick-ish stuff, like 20x20 box and angle section . I'm not sure how I'd do with bodywork, probably end up with more holes than before I stated
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
