Dropping the SJ

Post by AntD » Mon Apr 07, 2014 12:31 pm

My SJ is on lift shackles from previous owner - I don't think they're necessary and as you all know they have various downfalls...

So where can I get standard shackles, or do I just do away with the shackles altogether?

Also, what do I need to watch out for when doing the switch?

You can't do away with shackles as they're the bit that allows the spring to flex. Swapping back to standard is easy, just two bolts.

I was just about to throw a set of standards in the scrap bin.
You can have them for the cost of postage if you like?...

Any idea what postage might be? They won't be light!

They're quite small are standard shackles, hardly weigh a thing.
