Use strongbow to ballast the SJ.

I can guarantee doing 20mph up hills on the motorway feels uncomfortable, even in the wagon.

Because the SJ is so light weight distribution in the caravan will be very important, ideally I'd fit a stabiliser too to prevent snaking. Even in my Dads Navara (2200kg empty I think it was) an uneven trailer load makes for an interesting drive. A good load and you can cruise at 70, because that's the speed limit I would never exceed it.

As for gears, going up big banks keep the revs up and change down nice and early, don't snatch the clutch.

If your going to Wrexham from Runcorn head up the 53 towards the 55, you will see the engine hill, it's about 3 miles from the a483.

There is also a public weigh bridge in cefn if you need it.


As said above, have a go, but if she starts getting warm I seriously suggest stopping and getting it home for some other way.

I would suggest not using the stabiliser, the sj rear end being light, it could slide it round bends.

Pros and cons to the stabiliser. Never thought of that one, never been an issue as my tow cars have always been 2t plus.
