Going to double check all connections later and try again. The smoke seemed like it was coming from the alternator/starter motor sort of area, so fingers crossed its nothing serious!

Cutting this out on an oxy acetaline machine tonight, anyone guess what it might be? It's 1189mm wide if that helps.
