Andy's LWB Zuke
Andy's LWB Zuke
So I'm gonna get started on this!...
She's completely standard right now, but the plans for the first stage are;
YJ Springs all round (SPUA)
1.6 8v (already got)
Power Steering
31x10.5x15s
Virtual Lift (1" Body lift + modified arches)
410 Transfer Box (with new cradle to raise it 1" with the body - aiming towards a flat belly)
Winch Bumper
Garage and car are prepped, just need to start ordering my bits!...
I've also started a thread in 'Wanted' (http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/vi ... =19&t=9061) to try and obtain a 410 box and Power Steering parts if anyone can help...
For most parts I'm going to try eBay;
YJ's;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-LEAF-SPR ... 4d0eaea4de
Wheels and Tyres;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/31-10-50-15-K ... 4166c27b41
Arches (I have options...);
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221281939065? ... 1423.l2649
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260901906176? ... 1423.l2649
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200978004862? ... 1423.l2649
Shocks I was planning to get some ProComps. Anyone know what would be better suited? (ES1000, ES3000 or ES9000)?
And still unsure on winches...
Anyone have any opinions on the above items?
Look forward to getting started on this...

Sounds like a good plan - build diary is a must though, we love pics!

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
I wouldn't get heavy duty YJs the weight of the SJ will struggle to flex them.
Apart from that sounds good.

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
Wouldn't bother with the pro comps either. I had es3000s on mine and they are very resistive and also the seals didn't last long and I had to replace them.

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
My assumption was that they are 'heavy duty' because they are a 6 leaf pack. I plan to make them 5 leaf packs. And could even go to 4-leafs if they are still too stiff.
I heard somewhere that ProComp ES1000 was well suited to the SJ. Any alternatives then? Not seen a decent UK source for Rough Country.

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
Iv got those YJ's, its only the rears that are heavy duty. They dont flex much but they should be fine if you remove some leafs. I'm going to take a couple of leafs off mine when i change the axles.
The fronts flex great tho

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
Scottie had some cheap shocks that seem to have worn well but I can't remember what they are.
I'm not saying those springs won't flex well or be soft. Just kind of saying its a bit of an unknown with any HD spring (or any aftermarket spring for that matter) unless you know someone with the same setup.

Re: Andy's LWB Zuke
So ferris, did you get a set of fronts and rears? And you say the fronts are great?
I was wanting to just have the same all round so was originally thinking of getting the rears and making them 5 leafs. I'd rather they be too stiff but be able to alter them than be too soft with now way of changing them (still going to be a daily driver).
All comes down to if they're easy enough to alter really, what do you reckon?
