has any one got any idea which cable from the ignition i need to tap into for the radio to turn on and off?

Radio should have one wire for permanent 12v live (power+memory) and another connection going to your accessories wire to actually turn it on
If you look on the back of the ignition barrel it should be marked ACC

Don't think mine ever had a connection for an electronic radio (permanent live and switched live).
Mine just had the switched live = White with black tracer.

Yr I had to put a permanent live to my radio the other day as I kept on.wondering why the memory on my radio kept on clearing so I looked on.google and it said u need a permanent live going to the radio at all times so that is what I did

1.6 8v vitara lump with su carb
4” calmini lift kit :)
235/75/15 insa turbo special tracks

When yours was built radios were so different to what they are now it didn't need permanent live :lol: If had you truck I would get an original even if it didn't work, in it original mount point, and then a new one tucked away somewhere

With tapes you don't need the player to remember where you stopped it ;)
