Rear view mirror

Post by JonathanT » Wed Aug 21, 2013 4:37 pm

Hi,
I removed the rear view mirror whilst I was trying to find out why the sunroof wasn't working, and now I can't work out how the damned thing stays attached to the roof, It has two massive holes, presumably for the bolts, but whilst I have screws that screw into the threaded holes in the roof none of them will keep the mirror in place as their heads aren't big enough, am I missing a pair of washers or something?
Damned Haynes manual is no use whatsoever (typical)
someone please answer, cos she needs an MOT!

I have no idea about the mirror fitting. What I do know is that you dont need it for an MOT.

Go to your local fixing place and get some washers. Failing that im sure Darell will have a diagram for it.

thanks for replies!

Thought interior mirror was an MOT fail?
Problem is it would need 2 much longer bolts. will go have a dig in my box of bolts........
strange that the bolts would have a small thread (5mm?) whilst the mirror mounting holes are nearer 13mm..

If you are desperate you could buy a universal one with a suction cap, think every motor factor will have them.

thanks for the replies, I can't find the bungs (must have put them somewhere "safe" so as to not lose them). but have managed to use a pair of longer bolts and large washers for now.
