To the best of my knowledge the 2 large spade terminals are the battery connection and the small spade terminal goes to the light. I believe this alternator does not require a switched live (Black/white wire) to energise it as it gets a small feed via the warning lamp. I also believe the 2 large spade terminals are internally connected to the bolt + so this could be used if you already have ring terminal/s on your loom.

Sorry, I have not messed with one of these alternators so cannot guarantee this (that's why I keep bunging in "I believe" )
Hopefully somebody can confirm this

it was indeed! there were two bolt terminals on the back of the alternator so just checked which ones were short to those big spades and we're away! still haven't driven it out the garage yet so not had a full test to see if any electrics will blow up!

starting to look like a car again! just the throttle, choke cable, exhaust, seats, front end, shocks and fuel tank + guard to fit/fix then ill be ready for wagtail!

with a bit of angle grinding and a lock washer I've now got a throttle lever on my su carb, took the old one of my aisin, things got a little hairy though when I drove it up my mates field where my car is and on cruising back to the garage remembered the front brake pipes weren't connected, but a bit of tyre scraping along a low wall slowed me down. brakes get done tomorrow then just the exhaust and choke to sort.

brakes are done, just not dure what to do with the exhaust now, I like the sound but not sure how legal it is, so might have to do another quick bodge job.

more exhaust added! needs properly fixing on still, but picked up a mark 2 golf backbox today. had a bit of trouble starting it earlier, thought it was the carb, was just out of fuel.....duh. don't think ill get everything I wanted done by wagtail, but it will be functionable!

new toys arrived in the post this morning, get them fitted later and hopefully get a bit more power out of her! Front left brake is sticking on though, was fine when i parked it in the garage, then drove it a bit yesterday till it stank of burning and the whole wheel was steaming hot, not sure why that would have happened so randomly!

Im hoping to strip down the caliper and see whats happening but never done much with calipers so going to be a nice learning curve, and hope its something simple!

Brakes can seize randomly. Probably just a bit of corrosion on the piston or seized caliper slides seen as its been stood a while.
