Plenty 1600s about. Like i say prices vary alot.

I'm sticking with the SU as i've had no major issues in 4 years and it keeps it simple. Theres quite a few on here running it like that. Scottie and Dan answered most of my questions on the easiest way to do it. Think i'm gonna use Dans gearbox mod too with the welded bolts.

just found a 1.6 8v spi engine minus inlet manifold £195 deliverd. Two things 1) can i use my 1.3 manifold and carb. 2) will i need any other bits? comes with alt and exh manifold

Inlet manifold is a yes. Sure you said you had SU so its a yes but needle and spring will be to change.

Depending on which starter you have may need to grind starter or block to fit. Swap fly wheel and clutch. Also requires dizzy and housing and coil to swap from SPi to carb. Existing 1.3 dizzy is all a straight swap.

Think i read that the manifold bores may be smaller but i'm not sure. I'm going to be using my 1.3 exhaust manifold.

Yes but 1300 inlet manifold is slightly smaller so may restrict it a little

You can use either exhaust manifold. I prefer the 1300 as it clears the chassis better.

If it's a spi block i think you will also need to fit a electric fuel pump as there will be no space for a mechanical one on the block.

Ye thats no problem im sure i have got one kicking about what sort of fuel pressuer should i be running?

I will try to take as many pics and stuff as i go along but i normaly get so into it i dont stop i rekon from read up ect i am going to allow 2 hours to get it in!

Engine should be here hopfuly by the weekend! Dose anyone use the conversion plate or is it just a waste of money?

I have done 3 without it and all are fit and healthy.
