On the topic of bump stops. Are there any alternatives that could be made to fit? Something tells me it was once said series Land Rover front ones will go on the front with a bit of fiddling. What about the rear? Could you somehow do some top-down bump stops at the rear similar to the front?

Olds on the front should just unbolt but are probably seized solid. Lots of penetrating fluid, wire brush and go easy. Mine sheared of, so again, the welder.

On the rear the stops are axle mounted. You'll see a square plate on the chassis. This is the upper stop. I just welded the box section to it.

You want to set the bumpstops at the point the springs are flat and not starting to reverse, again all depends on the spring set up but generally with lift springs spua in the stock mounts 50mm is good.
