Great! I love the bikes, I have a question about the gear boxes on the bikes, obviously these are now chain drive do you have to get a special gearbox to convert the drive? I'm just curious as I wouldn't have thought you would be able to physically fit the car gear box in, is it something like a Harley gearbox with a 90degree adaptor?
Also out of curiosity what sort of mpg do these bikes do? I know the cost of petrol isn't such a big deal in America but its something all us brits are really keen on!

Hi Tramp I will do my best to answer your questions. You will have to do some conversions for US measurements though.
Gearbox: This was a kit bike and was fitted with a custom 1 speed gear box with a 90 degree drive for the chain hook up. They used a Chevy clutch with a brake booster from a Datson B210 to help assist the clutch operation.
Nothing at all like a Harley it would not hold under the torque.. I believe it was a modified gearbox from the coal moving cart used in the mining industry. From what the roomers were anyway.
The newer versions in 1999 had a 1 speed automatic type gear box that lasted for a couple of years and used the same gear box housing. They upgraded to a 2 speed auto and I think the same housing. Stopped building them in 99.
There were also a 3 wheeled version which I built a few of that had a Chevy TH 350 auto.
They offered a big block 502 version on both models for a few years as well.
MPG: That would depend on your driving habits. Hard driving about 9MPG with a total of about 6 gallons of gas. This was when gas was cheaper in the US in 96-97 and I would still fill up 2 times a day which worked out to 20 US dollars a day.

Here is something that is quite unusual that was also offered by the same place I would get the kit bikes I was building. I had not had the opportunity to build one of the Bar Stools because I had stopped building their products a few years before they had come out.
This is a Bar Stool with a 350 Chevy. It wasn’t geared for speed and its basic use was for a car racing infield cart. It could be used to move your race car to staging areas or maybe a beer run.
