Coil/Dizzy
from loom the Black/White tracer goes to coil +
rev counter if you have one goes to coil-
from dizzy Black/White tracer goes to coil+
from dizzy Brown/White tracer goes to coil-
Brown and Black/Green tracer from loom doesn't need to connect to anything at this end.
Starter
+feed from battery to + terminal as usual
Black/Yellow tracer from loom to the spade terminal
Black/Green tracer from loom is not needed
Alternator
uses the same colour wires as original, (Black/White tracer & White/Red tracer) just wire up to the plug on the alternator
White/Yellow tracer to +terminal Fuel stop solenoid
Usually a green connector on the carb but sometimes brown (There is also a idle up connector but this is not nneded, if the fuel stop connector is green this will be brown and vice versa)
Find a ignition live (black w/white tracer) and connect it to the black w/white tracer wire from the stop solenoid.
Then just earth the back wire.

Re: vit 1.6 8v into a JAP 410 wiring
I think the main long part of it is fabricating new mounts for the engine and gearbox...
It's much easier doing it to the 1.3 SJ/Samurai

If you get all the bits needed I think you could do the conversion in a day, it's not really that hard.
Re: vit 1.6 8v into a JAP 410 wiring
Well finally got round to my conversion 1.6 8v into a 410 tin top it did take me all bank holiday fag and beer breaks included but hey its worth it the boneshaker now flys;) but I've no idle I haven't conected the fuel stop solonoid yet or a brown connecter on the inlet manifold?? What is it? Do I need it? It's a bit of handfull trying to keep it running in traffic...
drive it like you stole it...
Re: vit 1.6 8v into a JAP 410 wiring
The fuel stop solenoid not being wired up is what is causing it to stall at idle, find a black w/white tracer to wire up the stop solenoid and just earth the black. The other (brown) connector is part of the idle up system and not needed.

Re: vit 1.6 8v into a JAP 410 wiring
Can anyone tell me what connector block/colour wires go to the ignition barrel please. At the moment I am turning it over by bypassing, using a bit of wire on the starter terminals which I don't really want to keep doing. Many thanks, Eddie
