Wrong coil pack?
A friend of mine has an Italian Sammy that he's trying to rebuild (he bought it partially stripped), and it's got a coil pack that doesn't seem to be designed for it.
The coil pack:
The HT lead from the coil to the dizzy is too short. Simple enough fix, that. But... The wiring loom doesn't match the The top plug in that photo fits, but the lower one doesn't.
See here: Top connector matches, bottom one doesn't:
Is that connector for something other than the coil? Are we being stupid? I'm housebound at the moment, so I can't go look at it, and I can't check my Zuk to see how mine is wired.
If we have to swap it out, what coil pack do you lovely lot recommend?

Re: Wrong coil pack?
All my parts diagrams show a coil like the one above for injection models 90-94. The plug looks like the ones that go on vitara coils. What year are we looking at, or better still a VIN number.

He thinks it's somewhere 1999 and 2001, but we'll get the VIN tomorrow and see exactly what year and whether it's supposed to be an EFI or not.

Re: Wrong coil pack?
None of the parts listings I use show Sammies that late, but we can try a vin.
It may even be an infamous coily of which I've never found a parts list for

Re: Wrong coil pack?
1996 onwards have a coil like this and an igniter if fuel injected.
I can't find any parts lists or numbers for 1996 onwards. However it is near as dam-it the same as goes on a 2000 Swift SF413 G13BA engine (the resistances of the primary and secondary windings are almost identical). I don't know about the igniter though.
The coil and igniter he has is for the Sammie injection until 95.

Re: Wrong coil pack?
For whatever reason the VIN number wasn't recognised by the parts site I often use. However I did manage to find the full parts listing for the coily sammy a few weeks back and it shows the coil as 33410-80C20 and the ignitor as 33370-60G10. I can't find a photo of the genuine part to confirm the connector though.

Re: Wrong coil pack?
I did a google image search using the coil part number you gave and the pics that came up (which might not be right, let's face it) had a weird pin config that doesn't seem to match either the plug Daniel has, or the coil Daniel has...?
I think that Daniel may need to visit a Suzuki stealership maybe... Or call Suzuki Italy...?

Re: Wrong coil pack?
Is there a part number on the coil?
The plug for the coil (black with yellow TPS) looks the same as the one used on the 1.6 16v I'm fitting in the not so white one.

Re: Wrong coil pack?
Great! Can you tell me what the part number is on that coil?
I'll ask Daniel what the part number is on the coil he has. Maybe it's from a 1.6 8v?
