I got the bed off the other night. All 8 of the bed supports on the chassis are rotted out, I was expecting this seen as tho I was given 8 new ones when I bought it. Main chassis legs are ok, just looks like everything welded to them has rusted away. Best get myself another roll of mig wire. Big reel at that.

Kja chassis do love to rot. I wonder what stage they skipped that
Makes them rot so bad.

You'll probably find there's holes rusted in the top of the chassis leg when you cut the old supports of. The supports have drain holes in the bottom, which block and rot out the support, but unfortunately often rot a hole straight down too through the chassis leg, so you'll have to plate those too
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Re: KJA cut n shut number 2!
Done a bit more to this over the last few nights. Its not looking good.
Took the front screen out and the lower screen surround inside and outside just fell away in my hands, full of filler and well and truly bodged. Looking from inside you can see that this panel has been replaced in the past, you can still see the suzuki parts sticker on it with half the part number still visable.
Removed the cab from the chassis and found some big holes in the chassis under the rear of the cab, also the drivers side chassis rail is a bit bent.
Dont know where to go from here, welding I can handle but bent chassis rails?

Weekend update ?
Re: KJA cut n shut number 2!
I would take some measurements to check that it's actually bent, I have seen a few chassis with similar bulges from the forming of the chassis rails in the factory.stevepsj413 wrote: Removed the cab from the chassis and found some big holes in the chassis under the rear of the cab, also the drivers side chassis rail is a bit bent.

the rails and dimensions should be the same as the lwb ones here.

Its deffo bent. Took springs off over weekend. Front nearsides a normal front spring, front offside has a rear spring instead of a front spring, ill put pics up wen i get home of the springs. I thought to do rear up front you had to make brackets to relocate the front spring shackle?
