Need specs/part numbers for oxygen sensors - GV 2009 2.0l

Post by lolsasquatch » Mon Jan 26, 2015 7:30 pm

Hi lads,

I am from Brazil and I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0l, petrol, engine J20A. Matter of fact is that my first heated oxygen sensor (the one between engine and catalytic conversor) is not working properly and I need to find a replacement.

The original one sold from Suzuki is 3 to 4 times more expensive than the alternatives in the market. My issue is to find out which of the alternative, generic sensors, will work for me. Suzuki does not seem to agree that they should give me the part number so that I can find an alternative and be sure that it will work.

So my questions are: which is the part number for the first ho2 sensor? Do you know of a direct match from a global vendor (like Bosch)? Is it the same as for the SX4 (which has the same engine here as far as I know)?

Thanks in advance from a desperate owner :S

This is what I could find, so I can't guarantee anything as I have no experience with this model.

Hopefully somebody with access to the Suzuki portal can confirm things.

Well, I just measured the resistance and got 1 ohm and 15 ohm. Looks like this sensor is done.

Suzuki Brazil called me back about the part, the code is right.

Do you suggest any online retailer that might have this in the Europe? I am having a hard time finding it in Ebay UK, and as I have a friend that will leave the UK in the next months it might be a good option for me.

I must admit I can find anybody other than original Suzuki.
I assume as these units are air/fuel ratio sensors and not just regular oxygen sensors nobody makes a copy  .

Well, that would explain a lot (even that my mechanic says that those generic sensors do not work well). Considering that these seem to last for 150K+ km, I don't see a market for it.

I will probably go for a "refurbished" one, as I can buy 3 or 4 for the price of one new.

Thanks anyway!

I think its a Wideband O2 sensor, they are more expensive. Are there any numbers on it? I don't think you can refurbish one so I would steer clear of those.

Sorry for the delay, just got the engine opened today and the lambda sensor that was installed was a Denso 65J0 211200-4520. Googling for it, looks like it is not the correct one for my car.

1995 Zuk, that isn't the correct one.
