rebuilt su

spend this morning rebuilding the tatty old su, on my 410
i got a rebuild kit from burlen's
best £24 i have spent.

the 410 drives like a different car.
pulls really well through all the gears, even fifth.

couldnt find any numbers on the alternator,
so i binned it and fitted an old lucas one from a mgb, i just had laying around
all sorted.

my 410 has the egr vac point on manifold,
it does do anything due to having su carb and k/n filter, and crankcase/ rocker breather pipe goes to a catch tank.
vac point is blocked off.

has anyone fitted a remote servo to a 410q?

or is it possible to fit a servo/mastercylinder from another sj?

alternator problems AGAIN

1985 sj410q so before my the headlights went dim when reving the engine. new earth strap fitted, problem solved. now i have the sj on the road i could smell the battery cooking/ over charging! :yuk: so i checked the output voltage ok (13.5) at tick over but rev up 1000rpm + and output voltage to bet...

knuckle seal?

where can i get the seal for the front steering knuckle swivel thingy? :hahaha: (technical term) :hahaha:
i notice whilst i had the truck on the ramp changing the springs that one is missing totally?
its an sj410q

will these come into the mot? as i have it booked for test monday.
