Air box set ups!

Post by Jordi » Thu Jul 11, 2013 10:12 pm

As said. Anyone running non original engines and carbs how have we bodged it all together? Photos preferred.

Mainly looking for SU setups as my £5 cone filter has finally died.

Cheers

I don't have an air box  but I'm going to make one to surround my filter.

I'm just looking for ideas to fit my snorkel to.

My plan is to build a sealed box around my filter with an exit that goes through my bulkhead and up out of the scuttle: if I can fit that with my cage? If not it will have to go through my bonnet and all have to disconnect the snorkel every time I open it

The one i have is the usualy tube up the window type, i'm tempted just to put a hole in the bulkhead and have it suck air from the cab.

Thats how the one on the SJ is and it seems to work fine. No pipes to rip off, no holes in wings and panels, no chance of it sucking water in through the top!

Thanks tom! Yeah that worked quite well, saved a lot of space, so I will definitely get another one, even if it is rather chavtastic

What filter is that in the top pic?

Very similar to the ram air Twiss mentioned earlier.
