John's (Jordi's Dad) 1986 Tin Top
I thought i had a build thread for this, apparently not.
This is our original SJ that me and my dad bought for halfs in 1999 i think.
It was our first venture into off roading and took a severe hammering at many a P&P day between 1999 and 2005. It isn't too highly modified.
Comfier seats, snorkel, Hyundai carb, tube front bumper.
In 2005 it got rolled
It was a sad day and hasn't left the drive since. A good few years ago my Dad repeaired it and painted it but due to both of our work schedules and a time / money thing it never got used and just sat there. Where it still is now, gathering rust and moss.
As it looked when repaired It doesn't look quite so happy at the moment. The aim is to get it road legal and work is due to start on the 29th of June after my Samurais MOT.
Hopefully i have the required spares to do most of the work required. I have officially relinquished any claim to this Zuk now but will be happy / proud the day it passes it's next MOT!

I love the 'distressed' look on the bonnet....
If it ticks over...leave it

On more than one occassion we said we'd sell it but both of us want to put it on the road again. My time especially is still an issue but even if we can just commit a weekend a month it'll soon be going again.
The hope then is to use them once a month for P&P or laning.

He's not bad with a spanner and a hammer. All the panels are the originals. Only thin we changed was the windscreen as it smashed.
It was all pushed back into shape with a porta power and panel beaten to remove big dents.

That two tone paint job looks the tits, although it could do with something to tie it all together. White pin-striping maybe?
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I put pics in the gallery a while back Tom. Its not quite as shiny now as been sat exposed to the elements. But i've told him the plan for it.turbo-tom wrote:Im sure ive seen pictures of that before but i didnt realise you rolled it, that looks pretty good after the roll.
