With the Jimny PAS box the steering column to far too long.
I remember reading somewhere about the plasic pegs. I've drilled them out but it still wont slide. Do i need to pull it apart and chop some of the thin part?
Or have i just not wire brushed enough and hit it hard enough?

I had this problem. Ended up cutting down the splined shaft on the Jimny box and grinding a new releif where the bolt goes thru the clamp.

I just hit mine really hard with a hammer and it went eventually. But don't hit it to far, cause it wont come back out again.

The only problem I see with collapsing it is that ammount of travel is supposed to be there to stop it spearing your chest in a crash.

If it has to be hit that hard with a hammer its not going to give in a crash anyway. I would assume that they slid a little easier when they were new.
