Speedo drive.

Post by duncslow » Sun Mar 24, 2013 9:16 pm

The speedo drive is not turning in my 410 transfer box, and Im sure Ive seen something on here about the drive in the gearbox failing, I have replaced the cable and driven the car forwards and the cable doesnt spin so got to be in the box. Any info greatly appreciated. do I have to split the box or is it possible to repair in place.
Regards Chris

Looks like the 410 has a plastic output gear, which could well be knackered.
I'm sure somebody will know.
It looks like you can remove the output gear without stripping the box (still looks a fight)

I'm pretty sure all the speedo drives I've removed from 410 tboxes have been metal?? But we are talking about suzuki here so some might've had plastic ones fitted, you'll need to remove the speedo drive to inspect it really, they can be a bit of a pain to get out though sometimes.
