1 off suzuki (need ur ideas)

Post by Richie » Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:49 pm

Ive got a spare sj which is fairly rough and not really worth restoring as im going to rob all the good bits off and sell them

Which leaves me with a good chassis and a hole for a new engine?

This is what im thinking..

Get rid of body lift
Get rid of shackles
Get rid of parabolic spring and put on standards (upside down)
Extend bump stops so they can hardly flex
Get rid of transfur box and all props
Uprate front brakes to vitara
C20XE engine (vauxhall astra gte) 150 hp (then add carbs)
Replace rear axle for some kinda stronger one and put lockers in it :brows:
10 inch wide vitara fat boy alloys on low profile tyres?

Basically slam it and make it a 800-900kg 180 hp rwd road legal soft top

This is the best idea i can come up with for it so far (but if u guys can think of one better im willing to change my mind)

so basically it becomes like a race car?
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

To lower it use standard springs and stiffen them with an extra non lifted leaf fit spacer blocks between the spring and axle to push the axle upwards.

Move the bumpstops up so you still have clerance for speed bumps.

Fit some heavy duty shocks aswell.

Try find a long prop from a rwd only zook. (dCAS on here has one if you want to try find info)

Could be. If I was going to RWD only a Zook I'd build a GeeP lookalike.

There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I love the idea, whats the existing body work like? That german company that make replica panels for SJ's & LJ's do a fibre glass body kit that fits on an SJ chassis and looks like an LJ, if I had the money I'd fit one of those!
