Help Please with a gear selector rod problem - NOW RESOLVED

Post by Pugsley » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:00 pm

I've just finished rebuilding the gearbox on my 410 - new bearings and oil seals etc with no problems but I've been a bit of a dummy on the selector rods. Without thinking I removed the rubber bung on the side of the tail shaft housing which contains the selector rods and out popped a couple of detent ball bearings.

After a bit of faffing around I thought that I had got everything in place but having loosely assembled all the housings and inserted the gear lever to ensure all was well before bolting everything together, I realised that I could not get 3rd and 4th gears.

I have the official Suzuki 410 manual but it's a bit difficult to understand (or maybe I'd had enough for the day) so I'm looking for help on how to correctly insert the detent balls with the selector rods in the appropriate positions.http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/po ... 2/p,38051/#
