Virtual Lift

Post by lazy rambler » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:26 pm

This is probably gonna make my seem a bit thick, but I've seen in Scottie J's signature, and googled it but I can't figure out what a virtual lift is. Can anybody shed any light on this for me?

it's not really a lift of any kind, it's chopping out the arches to fit bigger tyres.

You can actually cut out enough to run 35" tyres with no lift :guns:

Jep, me to, but guess what that's what I've started to do to mine, without knowing how good a mod it is or what it's called.
My SJ's at the second photo stage just a bit different shape as I'm fitting LR flexi arches.

We'll wait for Scott to reply to this one, he's got the virtual lift :)

I merged this topic with the last person to ask this  It was in the wrong section, thats why you probably didn't see it so I also moved it into bodywork & Trim :doublethumbs:

Personally If I was going to do a virtual lift again I would probably make complete new inner arches for the rear like how Shuduck has done his

note: he also raised the floor, you dont need to do this unless you want to raise the fuel tank.

I'm doing a virtual lift on my SJ but the boot floor has a thousand patches poorly welded to it.. So.. I was thinking about replacing the boot floor with a dam great sheet of checker/chequer plate??
Any thoughts on this??

Have you thought about buying a new rear floor?
