The buggy with no name

Post by Henry » Tue Jun 28, 2011 8:29 pm

This is a bit of a spin off from my V8 fiat panda project.

Decided that i now want a winch truck sort of thing  Lets see what evolves from my shed, and my scrap pile

Chassis pushed into the workshop. (200tdi)

Followed by the removal of the fuel tank for a quick gas axe session

I have started by cutting 10" out of the chassis.

Made the inserts for the chassis.

In True Welsh farmer pikey style.... they used to be part of this...

A hour of cleaning, lining up, measuring, then measuring again got me where i wanted it....

Then a good day on the welder later and we have this...

Followed by a 200tdi and box. all bolted in.

Well a bit more done today!

Been so busy recently, i planned to do the underbody protection before the cage went on, but sadly never got round to it!

The day came where i was booked into see Guss at http://www.uptotheaxles.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Myself, Guss and Kev managed to knock the bulk of the cage together, and i must admit i love it, and take my hat of to the both of them!

Ill let the pics do the talking...

Funnily enough scott yes there has been some progress :smokin:

Bought 2 lengths of pipe from FWB (coed poeth) and they sent me the wrong ones! :pissed: I only found this out as i was bending the front wings! Not happy. So one length went back and i decided to use the other. It looks a bit crap but you will never see it once the pannles and bonnet are on :er:

Myself and Kev bent the front, and put that into position. Fitted the pedal box into its final position. Took the steering out of the fiat panda (before i scrapped it) and cut that around to make it all fit nicely in!

Following this i put all the pipes on for the radiator, turbo and intercooler; Throttle cable went in along with the fuel filter and oil cooler pipes.

Not many pics but this is how it stood yesterday :D

Might get chance to do the brace in the roof of the cage today, see how time goes. Henry
