My 2006 Grand Vitara 1.6 G16b has an intermittent fault with the idle speed, the car has 19000 miles on it, yes 19000.
The car starts and runs without issue but after travelling for one mile or so if you come to a junction and have to stop the car won’t idle, the revs just drop off and the engine stops.
It’ll restart at the first turn of the key run perfectly until the next time you need to stop when it cuts out again.
I drove 30 miles this morning with it cutting out at every junction unless I kept my foot on the throttle. It’ll do this for a couple of days then run perfectly.
The car sat for 8 hours, started first time and would idle but at 500 to 600 rpm rather than the usual 800.
Plugs and filters have been changed and not made any difference - any ideas folks??
Also can anyone recommend a obd2 diagnostic scanner for the car.
