Fusebox Help

Hello

I have a 1990 Sj413, it is under a Suzuki badge but the more I look for parts it seems to coincide with the Santana model

The fusebox has taken some minor water damage for a few years now still don't know how it's getting in but thats a problem for another time.

The fuseboard is this style....

As these fuse boards are for the same things in the car, will the eBay one work in my style wiring loom, I understand there will be a little fandangling.

Can we rate the amount of fandangling needed? I'm feeling a solid 6/10

So yours is a Spanish built suzuki SJ then.

The Spanish fuse board is rubbish. As long as you are happy to dig into some wiring it’s not too bad to swap out the fuse box. I usually go aftermarket though rather than trying to splice in a Jap fuse box, something where you can crimp new terminals on. Something along these lines https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143740356968

Ahh brilliant! So i have found the spaniah wiring diagram with wiring colours.

Ive hooked up a new head unit and 6x9s in my old ford KA in 2008 so i am proper savvy with the wiring side

It’s a little bit more involved in that but I’m sure you’ll be fine. However don’t trust the Spanish diagrams….. I swear they just swap the colours around for fun.

I think when I did it last I just wrote all the colours and fuse numbers down, worked out what they were for and did it one circuit at a time.

You’ll want a relay holder for the flasher relay as well.

That's what I was thinking of doing so I'm glad you reiterated it. There are only 14 fuses so there's only one way to find out I suppose.

The link you sent has a relay holder as part of it. Or have I missed something?

The flasher relays are normally too big to have the cover on with those boxes, well the ones I’ve used has been.

A good upgrade while you are doing this is to set your headlights up through relays as you will have spare relay holders. SJs suffer from quite a bit of voltage drop in the headlight system so I Just use the stalk wiring to trigger the relays and then have a direct fused feed from the battery through the relay to the headlights for both dip and full beam.

I can’t remember if I drew up a circuit diagram for it, I’ll have a look.

I take it the relays can be purchased via the same eBay store as the fusebox you recommended. Already purchased btw

I appreciate the suggestion but my head is telling me not to bite off too much.

Disconnect old PCB > Label what i can > Crimp connectors > 1+1=2

No worries.

Just a thought. I presume you have a set of ratchet crimps for non insulated terminals? If not I’d get some to make sure all your new fuse terminals are crimped on well.

I have some wire strippers with the crimps in the handle? Worth buying the ratchet type?
