broken down - distributor issue?

Post by fozzie52 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 6:13 pm

Hiya.

I've got an sj413 '87 that has just broken down. I new it wasn't running right because i could see arcing on the ignition coil. Sure enough it cut out and wont start now. I get a spark from the ignition coil lead (that goes to the distributor) but nothing after the dizzy so I guess that would be the fault?

Is this a common/known issue?

Does it require replacing the whole distributor assembly?

where can i get one? (only found one in Australia on Ebay)

Anyway cheers,
Ben

I would replace the cap and rotor arm, maybe change the leads, first off. I have a dizzy in the garage if needed
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good
