How fast ?
How fast ?
I've just started using the 413 I bought last week and I'm a bit concerned how slow it is, on a flat road with a slight head wind it's not going over 45 mph, there's no misfire or anything and the brakes are not hanging on, it's standard apart from a weber conversion.
What speed are these usually comfortable doing, I would be happy with a bit more to keep up with the flow of traffic .

Re: How fast ?
With the 1.3 I could do at least 60mph if not more... with my 1.6 16v I could do 95mph on slightly smaller tyres than I have now
I would check your timing as its a common cause for slowness when not adjusted properly

I'm forgetting that the timing is adjustable, had modern things too long, sure my old man still has a strobe light, thanks for the advice.
Re: How fast ?
It should easily see 60+
Needs a good tune I would say, I would check the engine has good compression numbers as well.

Re: How fast ?
I see 60-65 on flats easy on my stock zuk with a toy 3 carb (update soon on that guys) and then on any kind of downhill I can expect 75-80 fastest I've taken her was 88 and I thought both zuk and I were going to fall apart haha!

Re: How fast ?
My old SJ413 would certainly do mid 60s,the old Vitara LWB v6 pulled high 90s before it dies back in March, but my BMW X5 diesel will do 130mph but that is the 3.0 turbo version chipped to 260bhp,for a 2.25ton car is not bad.
Deceased.

55mph on the Motorway for me, but will reach 80 before the roof starts to look like it's going to burst!

Mine will do 60 with foot pretty much flat to the floor. Enough to keep up and slowly overtake HGV's!
I have larger tyres and what I think is a tired engine also!

Has the gearing been lowered?Larry wrote:Mine will do 60 with foot pretty much flat to the floor. Enough to keep up and slowly overtake HGV's!

No, I'm pretty sure it hasn't. But it is on the long list of mods to make in the future!ScottieJ wrote:Has the gearing been lowered?Larry wrote:Mine will do 60 with foot pretty much flat to the floor. Enough to keep up and slowly overtake HGV's!
