Vitara JLX heater very low /poor heat output

Post by NeilP » Mon Oct 10, 2016 10:10 am

I am going to have a look at a friend JLX tonight as she is complaining that the heater does not work very well.

I had a very brief glance at mine this morning hopign to see an easy to access hto water flow control valve...but not can't see one in the engine bay.

What I assume is the hot water pipes, coming out of the bulkhead near the steering column (Right hand drive vehicle) , seem to dissapear under the inlet manifiold.

It could well just be that a radiator flush and re fill / bleed will cure it. but if not ??? I guess there must be a hot water flow control valve that controls water supply to the heater box?

Thanks

Your assumption about the pipes is correct.
Something to check is if there is a thermostat in the inlet manifold, people remove them to mask overheating issues, and you end up with a rubbish heater
