GV1600, 2001. Cutting out after dual carriageway run...HELP!

GV1600, 2001. Can anyone help please. I have a really annoying fault. It runs and drives as normal, idles fine...in fact no problems at all...UNTIL I drive on any dual carriageway at 60-70 mph then after any distance, once speed has dropped to around town driving it will at idle just cut out and not restart for 5 to 10 mins. No dash lights, no sign of indicated overheating. Recent new cat, both sections, also lamda (changed twice!). I'm sure there are a plethora of other sensors I could change, but could anyone please narrow it down for me PLEASE!

The only thing that springs to mind is possible heat soak on the camshaft sensor. I've not heard of the 1600 suffering it only the 2L j20 but they are similar so why not. They can fail when too hot and work again once cooled. To test this theory people place a wet rag or pour water onto the sensor to cool it once the engine has cut out. If it starts straight away then the sensor is best replaced.
The engine is better cooled at speed and once you hit traffic the engine metalwork can get very hot even if the cooling system is keeping itself at the correct temperature.
I don't believe it stores a code when this happens or at least people have not reported a code.
Please let us know how you get on with finding your problem.
