Have a slight technical glitch with my ignition switch......

Require some help/input/suggestions/advice or what ever from the wise members of this forum, this is related to a ignition switch problem that has just started.

On my 1998 LWB Vitara, the ignition switch has started seizing or hard to turn for a better way to describe it after you place the key in the ignition lock, its not related to the steering lock its just that the tumlers and barrel mechanism have worn out or even possible the key over the years has worn and wont trigger the tumblers correctly.

Have tried the old oil and WD40 which makes it a little easier to eventuallly turn, its not seized or anything like that its just the tumblers in the lock,of course one would then try a spare key and see if the higher key cuts would do the trick, only trouble is that since i have had the old bus which is 2 years i never received a spare key or never bought another one,so basically stuffed on that option which of course would be the cheaper option and process of elimination.

So will try it for a few days to see if the old magic oil trick works which i hope it will do,or if the worst case scenario does raise its head would i have to change all my locks because of the problem with the ignition key ???

OI of course could get another key cut which i probably will do later today, but when cutting a new key would thee new key come out the same as the older worn one ie knackered, its been reasonably fault free apart from this recent problem with the ignition key,i guess its basically just worn out because of the age and the tumblers are worn out.

Any input would be most welcome
