Heater not blowing hot air.

Hi not sure if I'm in the right place for this,i have a 2001 jimny and the heater only blows cold air,the cable for the hot and cold air isn't connected to the lever on the heating box thing,but ive tried turning the white plastic thing the cable was connected to and still no hot air,does any one have any suggestions as to what could cause this and to resolve it thank you.
