Re: Su carb snorkel air filter
I had a cone filter on the top of my snorkel before I removed it. When I refit it, I'll probably do the same, or maybe I'll fit a factory "doughnut" airbox for an SU, as they sit in such a way as to not really get in the way.

You can buy off ebay the adapters that bolt to the su and the other side is round for you to fit some pipe and clamp it, whether that's filter in the bay or on top of the snorkel. If that's what your meaning?

Re: Su carb snorkel air filter
I wouldn't put a K&N style filter near any vehicle of mine, especially on an offroader. Even the genuine K&N ones don't filter well and allow loads of crap through into your engine.
I would run the snorkel into the standard airbox and then into the SU. Having a bare filter on top of the snorkel open to all the elements isn't a great idea really.

I've just moved the standard air box slightly further down the wing and plumbed the SU up to that.

Re: Su carb snorkel air filter
Thinking of getting one of those. The SU fits in the middle, then a small elbow directs air down and into the SU. Then I'll attach the snorkel to the other end.
It's made for a 1300 Mini though, might not have enough flow for a 1600.

Re: Su carb snorkel air filter
Is it ok to route some pipe to the other side of the bay to the air box then out to the snorkel? Would this reduce the air flow?
