Vitara battery

Post by miketree » Mon May 05, 2014 6:59 pm

I need a new battery :(

I have been looking on t'internet at it seems to want me to have a 055 which is.. 192x128x227high

I have measured the existing one and it is 195x145x200high

(Ah, just remembered the terminals)

I was going to say that it would be too tall, but not if the height includes the terminals.

I'll post this anyway. Can anyone recomend somewhere cheap to purchase from.

We'll, that was a pain!

The 055 which all the websites said I needed didn't fit.

I popped round to my local Motorcount with the old one. The guy recognised it and brought out an exact copy.

I asked him what car they are used in. He said he has only ever sold them for use in lawn mowers. Cost me £80!!!!! And it is only 28Ah

So why does my vit have such a stupid battery? Someone suggested it may be an import, but I don't think so.
