I've ended up covering it in some tank repair stuff, as much as i didn't want to do that i also don't want to be with out a gauge. It should do until i find a tank with the write sender.

saying that i still dont know if it would work my bet is get a sammy sender unit plug your gauge on it and move the sender to see if there gauge goes up and down ;)
I didnt even see that, would of answered half my question! Will look harder next time.

thought i burst it trying to get out a bog, backed onto a fallen tree. Didn't notice for a while. but when i did look properly its just rotten. went over it with a srew driver knocking the bad bits out and filling them with this stuff. then washed it out with some petrol and chucked it back on with a new filter. Hope it holds for now.
