You'd be surprised how wrong the speedos are... The other day we tested my mates one.
His speedo was saying 85mph... gps was saying 65 haha

my record top speed running my old 970cc with 31" tyres (actually measured just over 30") was 74mph on the gps, it was on a bloody long, flat, straight bit of road

Same for me, long flat straight A-road.
My speedo's pretty accurate. 32-ish is 30 according to the laser speed signs, so I figure if you double (and a bit) the speed then you double the inaccuracy. 75's probably about 70, which is what Suzuki said the top speed was.

Think my extra 4mph would be from the larger tyres.

The fastest I've ever got mine to was a speedo reading of 62 with the GPS reading 75.
That was down the steepest straight road in Norfolk.

It's all about the bigger tyres... going from 195x80 to 235x85 has boosted my cruising speed from 60 to 70
Edit: Bigger engine helps as well

when mine was still standard I got 89 down a big hill.
since having the 31s its never gone over 65 on the speedo but I guess it must be more than that on GPS. When its back on the road with the 1.6 lump I will try it on GPS
