Hello, im new to this forum and I know this isnt exactly a motorcycle forum but was just hoping someone out there was knowledgable on Suzuki RM125 cdi's.
I bought the motorcycle recently with the intention of bringing her back to life. The bikes only problem right now is no spark. I have had the stator rewound as was down on ohms, i also have a brand new ignition coil yet no spark. I am now looking to replace the cdi becuase as far as they go, its pretty battered. The question i had was whether anyone knows whether a RM125 1997 cdi would work on my 1995 rm125. Also i understand the connectors are slighly different, which i can put my own on as the stator has new wires with no connectors when rewound. Has the same amount of wire coming out of it, the same colour wires too, aswell as the cdi externally looking identical.
The reason I ask is to find a resonable priced 1995 cdi seems near enough impossible. And requires waiting weeks fornit too arrive from USA. The 1997 cdi i found is uk based ; next day delivery ,.half price; garenteed 6 months.
Thanks for reading

Re: CDI trouble; please help
I can't find a diagram showing the internal wiring for the 1996-2000 unit, so can't really help.
Hope this is correct as the wire colours are a little different
