Please don't kill off the original steel dashboard! Wood would look wooden, I wouldn't do it, why wood you want to? (lol)

keep the steel dash. worst case scenario just cut some round holes in it for gauges etc, but I reckon it is the best you can do, anything else will just make it look shite
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

The prob is I only have parts of it and no windscreen or roof so I didn't really see any point. Wash going to make a totally custom one out of steel and timber.

Have removed some of the previous rust repairs due to the steel being rivited on. I now think I have more rust then solid steel.

Looks like sj might get a chop and become a tub with a tubular rear end. Cut it off just behind the seats. Still looking at it though.

Have decided to give the body work a break think I have had to remove atleast half the steel. Have gone back to working on running gear to get a rolling chassis.

Still hunting for a complete front diff hub to hub so I can do the rear disk conversion. Also need a hub as 1 of mine stuffed. And need some spare parts.

Some updated pictures of the progress.

Also made a sheetmetal brake out of 2 door hinges some 4x2 and a piece of angle iron last night hopefully it works well enough to rebuild the body

Make the arches big enough for 31" tyres at least, if not 33's - looking at your level of dedication to doing this vehicle right, there's every chance you will end up on big tyres.

You won't ever look back, either.

Well after weeks of removing rust and about 90% of the body new steel in going back in. Have cut all the wheel arches. Bigger the the vl thread says more by accident so should have room for 33 or bigger.

Am also completely rebuilding sills and floor.

Put the body back on chassis to check clearance here's a photo.

Does the acelerator pedal get effected much by bigger arches?
