Jimny virtual lift
Ok, normally when I need info, I check google - but google is not being forthcoming today, so I'll ask here and see what people say.
I'm going to replace my SJ. I know a few of you will hate me for selling my SJ, but due to health concerns (back problems and other things) as well as needing a more family friendly vehicle, I'm looking at getting a Jimny. I want to put samurai axles underneath, with my upgraded chromoly halfshafts up front, and then put 31" tyres on it. I'll keep the SJ as-is with the Jimny SORN until it's ready.
My question is, does anyone know how far you can go with a virtual lift on a Jimny? Can you cut enough to get 31's or 33's onto standard suspension?
I'm thinking of ripping off the bodykit/trim and making my own arch extensions, and then trying to get a decent sized set of muds on it.
Thoughts?

Bring it to me and I'm sure we can work out how far you can go with a VL on a jimny, it's something that I've wanted to have a go at for a while.

Sorry to hear the news Anton, but a Jimny is still a zook!

Re: Jimny virtual lift
I was looking at a jimny with 31s on it the other day and the wings and arches are pretty tailored to the wheels. I reckon you would have to cut off a hell of a lot to fit 31s on it with no suspension lift, probably wouldn't be able to get standard-ish arches on it afterwards...
tbh I reckon as long as you did it properly a jimny should handle better with a lift than a sj/sammy.

Re: Jimny virtual lift
Thanks guys! Scottie - may take you up on that, if I can find a cheap but solid Jimny!
I missed one with a blown head gasket in Worthing the other day, for 500.
