Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Mentioned the satin purple to several mates (including Stu who you met Andy) and they all seem to like the idea as do I. Thing is a big 'ol can of black is cheap...satin purple would have to be made up, not cheap. So the options are this...
Grey
Black
Grey/black/white/purple camo.
Maybe...

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Made a start on the paintwork...it IS going to be camo, but with a couple of twists to it. And instead of purple I will use the existing dark blue colour instead.
Had a rash of dents on the tailgate but I'm quite pleased with the results...
Did have a narrow squeak when I backed her in the garage...with the fatter tyres!

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Got the wee winch on. Now on the search for a 9000lb one for the front. With the added weight in the back the handling has vastly improved!

Looking good
Are you intending on adding any braces to the rear door? I Can imagine some crumpled sheet metal after an angled pull

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Yes Scottie, that's on the list of things to do, and that seems to be endless at the moment! The bike is on it's own two feet now, so I will do the respray maybe this weekend. The arches need more trimming, spacers need to go on as do some wider wheel arches, pick up bed needs lining, and so on!

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Andy popped over to pick up my old/his new tyres in the summer Citroen. Can't believe 4 tyres and wheels, 1 spare wheel and various other bits all went into the back!
Not Turbo...well, duh...

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
Cheers dude, still lots to do to her. Not out of necessity, but because I want too. I think Suzuki's have become a way of life for me and also a hobby. Nearly the best hobby I could have lol. I'm going to make a cover for the pick up area...will be tricky with the cage in it but I've sketched a few designs and it's possible. Rear bumper needs to go on, line the pick up in ally, fit the wheel spacers when Twiss finally goes and gets his bits, wheel arch extensions, more virtual lift as the 29" rubs on maximum articulation. Front winch. Remount the doors so they unbolt like an SJ. Roof light bar. Fit my Cobra buckets and put in harnesses. Sheesh, the list is almost endless and that's the way I like it really...always something more to do.

Re: the no dosh Vitara revamp
How to (sort of) fit a Vitara wheel bearing part one.
The part arrived this morning and I was immediately on the dog asking why have you sent a Grand Vitara bearing and the wrong year as well. They said they are all the same. Hmm, let's see.
Was all fairly easy really, jack up, wheel off, caliper off and cable tied out of the way, free wheeling hub put up a fight and as there was no gasket behind it this is probably why the bearing failed (big time). Disc didn't respond to hammer time so the old bolt metoid was used. Then lookie lookie. It's a sodding SJ hub!! My jaw hit the ground...why on earth fit that when a Vit one would be way easier to find and put on. Maybe the previous owner had some lying around...
So an SJ one is on it's way for tomorrow, packed the knackered bearing in a ton of grease and limped back home. Part two tomorrow....I hope.
