Hi guys, i got a new towbar with twin electrics for my LWB 1993 Vit.
I have not looked at the kit or the wires i will splace into yet (Friday...) but just thought i would ask has anyone else fitted one, maybe made a note of what wires in the car are for what?
Anything whilst fitting i should watch out for?
Cheers
Mike.

Heres a wiring picture for the 2 towbar sockets... as for splicing into the existing wires, best bet is a service manual for a vitara... you can find them here:
http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/vi ... =36&t=7483
Word of advice, its best to strip the insulation off the wires, solder the towbar connections on and reseal with electrical tape
Don't use the clip together scotch locks as they will get mud and crap in them, then the wires will end up corroding
It's worth buying a soldering iron if you dont have one!

If you shop around you can get an electrical kit that plugs into the Vit loom behind the rear light, that saves having to mess with the loom.

this, and that's a very polite way of describing how bad these things are!!

sadly quite a lot of towbar kits come with them, they've even been known to cause electrical fires

I used them on my old truck... the back lights were all dead so i cable tied a trailer light board on the back and scotch locked it to the remains of the wires! They didn't have any crimp connectors in the petrol station and I think I had to close them with a club hammer
I thought I would replace them when they stopped working but they lasted as long as I had the truck lol
Still, never again unless its dark and you're stuck with no other option to get home!
