well i took the plunge and I went to the Bristol & west 4x4 show at the bath & west show ground last weekend.
not too bad but there were not many other than land rover makes there.
apart from a few specials and the frontera owners club, not many other makes except my lone Suzuki vitara.

this is the mud spattered shot after I gave the off road course a go.
as I have only had the truck on the road for about 3 weeks I did not even know if the 4wd system worked or even low range, but after a quick check on the start track all seemed ok and I went on the permanent off road course at the showground, quite surprising how well it coped with it all, I was following a lwb shogun which got stuck on one of the harder bits so had to take the easier route to bypass him at one point.

apart from the deep water I could have done all of the harder red route and in fact we were allowed to do some of the red route by some marshalls.
all in all a great day out, very hot in the open, the winch challenges were quite good to watch and the static displays were ok especially if you like land rovers.
I picked up some more tools, a high lift jack attachment, and a few other odds and ends.
so I think I will be going again next year.
next trip is to the dundry off road site to see where it can really go
