Rhinoman when are you heading up? Want to join the convoy if you can?
I've just been hunting for my tent but can't find it so I will have to pick one up tomorrow afternoon. PM me your phone number, I might be able to meet you en-route if I can get away from Cirencester at a reasonable time. I should finish work around 1PM and then I will dive into town to grab that rather essential piece of camping gear. I have to maintain 50+ to avoid the death wobble!

I won't be there, I'm afraid. Have fun chaps, hopefully I'll be able to make the next meet!

Right lads, i have every intention of being there, but would it be the end of the world if i didnt show up till late tomorrow or even sunday morning? Im hoping to make it for tomorrow morning as planned, but time has caught me out slightly, i still have to change the front pads (which i only noticed last night and picking up tonight), change the oil, put on my new fan, swap the alternators, fix the light wiring, sort the fog light out, re-tension the head bolts, then get packed up and get down!

KJA collected, pcv valve was playing up, sorted that. Test driven it myself and it seems all good to go. No rattlier than any other SJ. Brakes also needed bleeding again.

As I got home really early everything is now packed, few hours with the daughter and as long as its ok to arrive tonight, be there between 9 and half past!

Well I got home earlier after a good couple of days up at Billing, I froze during the nights and got sunburnt during the days. Good to be able to put some names to faces.

The reason for my delayed departure on Friday:

This bit is what is left of one of the brake shoe retainers, both had gone missing:

These bits fell out when I took the drum off:

Given the almighty bang when it went and the subsequent loud sound of metal grating on metal I was quite please to find that it was something quite simple to fix. I put a couple of universal retainers on there and manually adjusted it up until I can get a replacement adjuster ratchet 'pawl'.
