Hi All,

I recently had my car up on a ramp and was fitting my diff drop kit and I noticed my passengers front wheel bearing had some play in it. I decided to take it out yesterday for a dew lanes with a group of us. Towards the end of the day it got bad so I came home early :(

So my question is are they a diy job? Any specific tools required and the best place to get one from

Although I'm not familiar with the vitara I would imagine its much the same as any other setup.

Just drift the races out of the hub with anything suitable.

Get a bearing from any good motor factors.

I think the bearing is a one piece unit. If it is the locknut is normally tight and requires the correct tool/socket to undo.

Ok well I see the tool on bits for vits and its £42 bit more than I want to pay. I have an idea for a make shift tool. Hopefully should do the trick I've found the wheel bearings at gsf.

Had a shifty through the manual and it could be blooming tight.
Robbed the relevant sections and pasted together

Your a gent Darrell. Looks a lot more involved than I thought. Wonder if its worth getting a second hand hub.

I'm sure you can make do without all the tools shown to fit the seals.
A piece of old tube to tap the bearing in and out with may be useful though as you only want to tap the outer bearing race.
Wait and see if anybody here can give some useful advice.
