Speedo and wiper motor

Post by george123 » Sat Mar 08, 2014 6:21 pm

Hello all I'm having trouble with my sj first of all it won't tell me the speed when I'm driving is there anything on the gearbox which should be connected? And also my windscreen wiper motor isn't operating when turning them on any ideals?

Thanks

As said speedo goes to tbox and wipers could be a fuse or the little stalkthat goes through the screen frame can seize in place

Simple to replace the wiper motor. Ask in the wanted section, someone will have one!

Speedo cable is held in by one bolt/screw.
Some have a brake drum fitted onto the output shaft, but I assume yours doesn't as you didn't have to disconnect the cable when you removed the box.
I guess your speedo cable is not connected/missing.

On the diagram I put handbrake drum, but it should be handbrake backplate.
It's midnight and I can't be arsed to change it ;)

That's a clean looking transfer box, and the whole underside is looking pretty good, I don't think mine has ever looked like that!
