Alternative seats?

Post by mic » Wed Jan 13, 2010 3:21 am

Are there any bucket seats that are a direct replacement for the original ones?

none are a direct fit however it is not hard to make adapters to fit most bottom mounted bucket seats to the original subframes.

As scott said... ive fitted my buckets on the origanal runners.
But, i had to make a new base frame for them to sit on, as buckets are narrower than standard seats...

my vote as always is swift gti, My Sj had some in when I bought it,

but in the end I broke the drivers seat, so I put another set in except the drivers seat of the replacement set had fag burns in, so I had them re-covered in red leather and velour, and then i had the back seats and door cards re-covered to match!

Do Swift seats go straight in or do they need modifying?

all seats that are fitted require some modification. The swift seats need fitting onto the original seats runners, you can bolt them on or weld them on, and that way the seats still run backwards and forwards like the originals with the passenger seat that still goes extra far forwad (which you need if your going to get passengers in the back)
