Ye I looked at some emu springs and he only does them in 50mm lift springs and they was about 98quid a spring

But I'm.sure llama does standard hight but they might still be about 380 proberly

Yea

End of the day a springs a spring.

Im running llama stock height springs and they are ticketybo

Like anything really . Buy cheap buy twice. It shouldn't be that way but it usually is

Well the jap springs arnt cheap they ate 170 for a set of rears which is 85 quid a spring

I buy cheap things sometimes, but I treat them as disposable. I bought some drills from B&Q for a tenner each - and saved up in the meantime to get a decent Ryobi drill.

With tools, I either buy cheap and expect them to break sooner or later, or buy quality ones I know will last, and *expect* them to!

Still, Ed's springs weren't that cheap that I'd say they were "disposable". I have springs from a scrapper on mine right now, and they're holding up better.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask brand new springs outlast a set of 20 year old second hand ones from a scrappies.

I'm going to cut a long story short as shit's getting hectic because I need my SJ ready for doing 50 miles a day in less than a week. I'll do a more detailed post once shit has stopped heading for the fan.

As I was doing my oil change this morning bits started arriving so I just carried on working on my SJ but ended up stuck for about 5 hours and only just cobbled it back together for the night.
I've got the new disc and pads fitted on the osf, was a piece of cake. Old pads were crumbling like biscuits and disc had pitting on the braking surface.

However, when it came to getting the caliper back on it wouldn't open wide enough. After a quick chat with Jordi I had a look under the piston boot and couldn't see any corrosion, so I forced it open with a big G-clamp. Due to confusion and frustration with the slide bushings, it ended up taking hours to get the caliper bolted back on, and it still bloody sticks on.

I've got the new disc and pads for the near side, a new exhaust end (better be the right one or I'll go spare) and a set of second hand, not-as-shit-as-the-ones-I've-got rear springs. Pretty certain I can easily get the near side brake and the exhaust done pretty quickly tomorrow provided nothing else decides to shit on my parade. Might take a stab at getting the springs started.

What should I do about this buggered caliper? It needs sorting out in the next few days, which is part of the problem. I could order in a rebuild kit and have a stab at rebuilding it, though I've never done it before and don't have the time to dick about 'uhm-ing and ah-ing' about it. Does anyone have an Aisin caliper for a 410 in working order sitting about somewhere that I could buy and have posted sharpish?

Id bag some Spanish calipers. Strip and rebuild them.

Easier to come by and simple to maintain.
My asin calipers where constantly sticking best thing I did was bin
Them.

Jordi may have some?
